Honouring Lucy Wright – Our Beautiful, Brave Charity Ambassador
Lucy Wright was a beautiful, brave young lady and a much-loved part of the Milly’s Smiles family.

Lucy
In 2018, just before her 9th birthday, Lucy was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma. She faced her illness with incredible strength and courage, enduring almost seven years of treatment before sadly passing away in July 2025 — just weeks before her 16th birthday.
Lucy was treated at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and spent much of her time on Ward 84 — the same ward where Milly had been cared for. Like Milly, Lucy grew up in the same hometown and even attended the same primary school.
Since receiving their own Milly Bag in 2018, Lucy and her family became passionate supporters of the charity, helping to raise awareness and taking part in fundraising events. In 2023, Lucy was proudly appointed as our Charity Ambassador, a role she embraced with her trademark positivity and warmth.
To honour Lucy’s memory and the difference she made, Love from Lucy continues her legacy — celebrating something that was so important to her as a teenager going through cancer treatment: self-care.

Self-Care… for You
Love from Lucy was inspired by Lucy’s love of self-care and how much it helped her both physically and mentally throughout her treatment.
Lucy loved her skincare and makeup, enjoyed having her nails done, and often treated herself to a pedicure. She loved the cinema and the theatre, and some of her happiest times were spent eating out with her family and friends — Nando’s, pizza, and Chinese food were among her favourites!
Lucy reminded us all how important it is to feel like a normal teenager — to have fun, to do nice things, and to take time for yourself in between hospital visits.
Through Love from Lucy, we want to share that message and encourage other young people to look after themselves during what we know is an incredibly difficult time. This is our way of honouring Lucy and everything she stood for — kindness, courage, and self-love.
