We are holding our 2nd annual sponsored walk on Sunday 6 November 2016 at 11am.  Last year this event was hugely successful, thanks to the fantastic support from many people.  The walk was the beginning of Milly’s Smiles and we have since gone from strength to strength, making a difference to over 50 families from the North West, whose child has been diagnosed with a cancer related illness.

November 6th is Milly’s 13th birthday we would love you to join us on the walk and celebrate this occasion for Milly. We will be leaving and returning to The Plough, in Great Harwood, the route will be announced within the next few weeks.  There will be hot food at the end of the walk for a £1 donation, and of course for all those old enough a well deserved beer!

We would love as many runners as possible to join the event, wearing Milly’s Smiles T-shirts.  Milly watched the race last year as it was done for Ward 84 – Millys Ward, and a video was shown of Milly ringing the end of treatment bell.  She would be so excited to know that we have a team of runners in her shirts running for her charity.

Our fashion show was a huge success – we have raised over £1660.00.  Our compere for the evening Mrs Smith was a total hit with the audiences and had them in the palm of her hand.  Dancers and models were very beautiful and professional and put on an amazing display of dances for everyone.  A fantastic evening was had by all who came a we thank you so very much for supporting us.

What a fantastic turnout we had for our first Milly’s Smiles Event, our sponsored 5 mile walk.  People braved the elements, wrapped up warm and joined in the fun, we had prams, people on crutches, young children and everyone walked 5 miles for Millys Smiles, thank you so much for your support.  We were even lucky with the weather being kind to us, especially after the torrential rain before and after the walk, think Milly may have played a part in that!  An amazing amount of money was raised from the walk £8061.  Some of the money has gone straight to Ronald McDonald House to fund a room in Millys name and the remainder is with Milly’s Smiles – with which we can now start making our Welcome Packs for the families on Ward 84.  This event will become an annual event, so watch out for next year, because we have much more planned!
