Thank you Honey Bee Bakery!

When we first advertised our new Bereavement Coffee, Cake & Chat Café, we received a lovely message from a lady called Emily, who owns Honey Bee Bakery.

We had never met Emily before, but she very kindly offered to bake cakes and brownies for our Café completely free of charge.

What makes her offer even more special is that Emily isn’t local to us. For both of our first two Cafés she has spent her time baking the most delicious cakes and brownies and then driven all the way from Preston to our unit to drop them off for us.

And they really have been delicious!

It has been lovely to see everyone enjoying them at the Café, and they have actually become a really important part of the morning. There is something about sitting down together with a warm drink and a piece of cake that helps to break the ice, makes conversation a little easier and helps everyone feel more comfortable.

Emily has now incredibly offered to continue baking for our Café for the next three months, until she heads off on maternity leave.

Emily didn’t know us when she first made her offer. She simply saw what we were trying to do and wanted to help, and I think that makes her kindness and generosity even more special.

So, a huge thank you to Emily and Honey Bee Bakery for supporting our little Café, for all the hours spent baking, for travelling from Preston to deliver everything and for helping us create a warm and welcoming space for our bereaved families.

Sometimes kindness really does arrive from Preston in a box full of brownies.

Thank you Emily, you are a very special lady and we are so grateful for everything you are doing for us.
